Finding swimwear that not only looks great but also fits well was a nearly impossible task. Until Andie Swim came along.
Andie Swim was founded in 2016 by Melanie Travis. She created the line as a solution to her (and many other women’s) problems with the current swimwear market. The traditional approach of going to a store and trying on countless different swimsuits under terrible lighting isn’t good for anyone. And more often than not, the swimsuit doesn’t fit properly when you get it home.
She discovered this when she bought a brand-new, high-quality swimsuit and tried it on for the first time at the beach. It didn’t stay in place, and she spent most of the day constantly adjusting it, spoiling the fun she was supposed to have. And so, the mission was born to create a better women’s swimwear line that actually served its purpose while being flattering.
When it comes to swimwear, I’m familiar with many different styles and designs. However, I’m always looking for a swimsuit that fits all day long and still makes me feel comfortable and look good. When I heard about Andie Swim’s women’s swimwear line, I decided to give it a try.
The first swimsuit from the line I tried on was the “Tulum – Flat”. I’d been looking for a good one-piece that didn’t look matronly for a while. I hoped this one would be just right for me.
When I received this swimsuit, I immediately noticed how well it fit. It was tight in all the right places and extremely comfortable. I tested it out for a day at a barbecue with friends.
I did everything from lounging to swimming to pool volleyball, and it stayed in place perfectly the entire time. I received several compliments on my suit, and I really liked the design of the back straps.
Die Qualität dieses Badeanzugs wirkt hochwertig und ich sah darin nicht wie eine alte Frau aus. Daher ist er zweifellos mein neuer Lieblings-Badeanzug.
Since I already own a lot of two-piece suits, I was curious to see how this one would compare. I chose the Ventura Top – Flat in navy. I thought it would keep everything in place during high activity while also helping me look fantastic.
I ordered a size S because that’s the size I usually wear tops. When I put it on, I immediately realized it was probably a size too big for me. The straps aren’t adjustable, which looked a bit odd for my petite frame.
While I liked the look, the lack of adjustability of the straps was a problem throughout the day. I felt a bit self-conscious in the top because nothing fit properly. If I had to do it again, I would go for an extra small, as I think that would have served the purpose.
Of course, I might have been able to avoid this mistake if I’d used the Fit Finder. This 12-question quiz is designed to help you find the optimal fit for all Andie Swim products.
The Banded Bottom – Flat in Navy was a much better fit than the top. These bikini bottoms felt more comfortable, but weren’t too tight. I thought they showed off my bum really nicely and I felt comfortable in them all day.
I tested this bikini set for the same full day as the one-piece, and I’m happy to say that the bottoms worked flawlessly. They felt sporty, but also a bit sexy. My only criticism of these bottoms was that the fabric felt a bit thinner than the one-piece.
The manufacturer says the fabric content is exactly the same, so I’m not sure why that is. However, I had a feeling this swimsuit simply wouldn’t last as long as the one-piece under normal activity.
My biggest surprise was that both sets took over a day to dry. I’m not sure if it had something to do with the humidity that day, but I’ve never had a swimsuit take that long to dry.
Overall, my experience with these two swimsuits from Andie Swim was great. Most of the suits are made from the same 82% nylon and 18% spandex blend. This fabric blend is fairly common in swimsuits, but it doesn’t necessarily last long. This is due to the UV reactivity of nylon, which degrades faster than other materials like polyester.
Additionally, depending on the country of origin, the nylon may not be as environmentally friendly. Since the brand doesn’t provide us with any information about where it sources its raw materials, it’s hard to say.
The brand also doesn’t disclose any information about its production, other than that it’s made in China. It claims that all its swimwear is manufactured by a leading swimwear manufacturer and that the factory follows ethical and fair trade practices. I prefer a little more when it comes to quality control, ethical and fair trade practices, and sustainability.
Honestly, without more transparency, I can’t give them a 5 out of 5. But that doesn’t mean they don’t make a quality product.
Andie Swim’s price tag certainly isn’t cheap, but let’s be honest: Nothing about my look suggests a budget. I feel completely comfortable in these suits and think they make me look fantastic. And that, honestly, is the most important factor when buying a swimsuit. So, am I happy with the price? I don’t think I’m getting a bargain, but it’s in line with their beauty and performance.
I’m also concerned about how the material will hold up over time. We’ll be posting updates next summer to see if the quality remains. I plan to wear the shoes often in the meantime.

Overall, my experience with Andie Swim swimwear was great. I was pleasantly surprised to find a one-piece that actually fit me well, looked great, and stayed in place all day. I did have a slight sizing issue with the two-piece, but that was most likely due to my own ordering. I liked that this suit felt like I was wearing a sports bra and tight underwear.
Again, the prices are on the high side, so if you’re looking for budget-friendly swimwear, this probably isn’t for you. However, I always encourage people to treat themselves every now and then so they can see what it looks like when you’re not afraid to spend money on quality items.
